Wurzer Alm Alpine Hut
About Wurzer Alm Alpine Hut
Guests visiting the Wurzer Alm alpine hut, at 1707 metres above sea level, can sit outside on typical wooden tables, and enjoy the sun and fresh mountain air. Here, surrounded only by lush green meadows with grazing cows, you can relax completely. The views over the Penegal, the Val d'Ultimo, the Ortles and the Alpi Retiche are to die for, making it the perfect place to relax, unwind and enjoy the authentic flavours.
The Wurzer Alm is run and lovingly looked after by Mrs Ulrike, her husband and team. They will serve flavoursome South Tyrolean dishes such as piping hot cheese gnocchi or spinach dumplings and the classic cold snack with sheep sausage and "Kaminwurzen". Also their goat and sheep roast is well worth sampling after a good soup of the day. And there are refreshing drinks to complement the food. Everybody loves the Wurzer Alm! Fresh produce and home-made delicacies as well as the “Kaiserschmarren” of buckwheat flour are what make this alpine hut so special. Even at such high altitude there is no shortage of delicious home-made breads and fruit juices. Try them!
