About Stafell Alm

If you are looking for accommodation in the area below the Hirzer summit you are guaranteed a pleasant stay in the popular Stafell alpine hut, which is run by the Walder family. Depending on your mood or physical fitness you can either drive along the main road which will take you directly to the Stafell in 40 minutes, or walk a few hours through stunning scenery and finally head for the alpine hut. This is an easy road also for families with pushchairs who will be greeted on arrival by a hearty snack and will enjoy it "al fresco" sitting on deck chairs while their children play in the playground.

The Stafell is located on the land belonging to the Unterkirnhof alpine hut where the owners have their own vegetable garden and keep livestock. Here the Walder family get their fresh local produce and organic ingredients from the vegetable garden to prepare delicious meals. This is the ideal stopover for mountain bikers who absolutely love our home-made dishes such as the Apfelschmarrn and strudel. Carbohydrates have never tasted this good!
