Restaurant Café Grüner
About Restaurant Café Grüner
Right in the centre of Karthaus in the beautiful Schnals Valley, the Grüner family awaits you in a traditional atmosphere within the walls of the former Allerengelberg Charterhouse.
For all lovers of traditional cuisine handed down from generation to generation, a unique experience in the cosy ambience of a still authentically run family business.
Some of the dishes prepared with love and a sense of tradition are reminiscent of the meatless cuisine of the Carthusian monks, interpreted in a contemporary way with simple, fresh ingredients and aromatic herbs.
Not to be missed: For many years, the restaurant has been awaiting you for the traditional Schnals lamb weeks in September or the "pasta and appetiser weeks" in November. On weekends, there is also the Saturday brunch with „Weisswurst”, “Weissbier” and a glass of Prosecco, which is not only popular with locals.
Surrounded by one of the most beautiful alpine natural landscapes in Europe, with peaks still covered in snow until late spring, you can choose between three traditionally furnished dining rooms with a love of detail or the sunny terrace with a wonderful view of one of the last largely untouched natural paradises in the Alps.
