Maria Saal Guesthouse
About Maria Saal Guesthouse
On the Renon, the sunny plateau that towers over Bolzano, the Maria Saal Trattoria invites you into its welcoming Tyrolean “Stube” dining room, and to its beautiful terrace. Enjoy the sunshine and the excellent offerings of our kitchen. Local ingredients are used to create our delicious seasonal dishes and the beautiful presentation stimulates the appetite. Hikers can cool down with a drink, or a glass of wine or beer. In the afternoon, we serve a range of tempting home-made cakes. Tasty apple strudel and cream cakes are too much to resist. Order a coffee and let your eyes wander over the view of the peaks of the Dolomites. Relax and spend a few hours in this welcoming place. The dining room is also bright and welcoming, and full of orchids; a pleasant place to enjoy good company.
The Maria Saal Tavern is an ideal starting point for excursions. Not far away are the Renon earth pyramids, as well as many well-signposted paths leading along the sunny plateau across meadows and woods. The picturesque 17th-century pilgrim’s chapel of Maria Saal, from which the trattoria takes its name, is very close by. All year round, you can undertake high-altitude excursions on the Corno del Renon, and experience the breathtaking views. From the peak, there is a 360° view over the Alto Adige mountains. In winter, the Renon becomes a skiers ‘paradise, and you can also go on winter walks and enjoy the idyllic snowy landscape.
