Caffe Milchbar

In the middle of the historic centre of Sarentino, in the valley of the same name, you will find the old “Sailerhaus”. This building has witnessed many fascinating events, stories that we are happy to share with our guests.
Guests coming in through the ancient door find themselves in our creative café, the Caffé Milchbar. Here, a modern, welcoming atmosphere blends with old features such as the mill wheel in the middle of the room.
Many years ago, there was water running through this very place. Where the mill wheel once turned, today it listens to the sound of the voices of people talking all around.
The Milchbar is an ideal meeting place for people of all ages: locals, tourists and international guests. The name “Milchbar” (milk bar) comes from the building’s former life, when it used to be a centre for selling milk produced by nearby farms.
The design of traditional milk jug, only slightly different from the original ones, is still used as an umbrella stand or as vases in the café. The jug remains the Milchbar’s symbol: traditional origins and modern life.
Our customers can enjoy organic muesli and yoghurts here at the Milchbar, and in summer our ice cream milkshakes and home-made ice cream are very popular. A real treat is the “Eisschoko”, with hot chocolate from Anton Oberhöller.
